Joe Louis Traditional Thai Puppet Show is a well known performance in the among of Thai and foreign visitors for a long time. The show is a combination of Thai traditional dance with puppets telling story of the "Ramayana: Hanuman the Great Warrior". The theatre is located at the popular shopping center at Asiatique the Riverfront. This 1 hour show is available every Friday - Sunday with the capacity of 75 seats.

Plot

This performance is one of popular parts in Ramayana. Supannamajcha, the guardian of the sea and fish commanded her fish retinue to build the road across to Lanka Kingdom by transporting the stones of Rama's forces into the sea. Hanuman noticed the unusual stones filled to the sea, then he jumped down to check under the sea. Hanuman met Supannamajcha and tried to capture her until causing the love.

Tips: Joe Louis theatre is located on Charoenkrung Road. The best way to get there is to take BTS and shuttle boat to Asiatique because the traffic in that area is normally poor.
