From Ko Samui, Ko Pha Ngan and Ko Tao, you can take a ferry to Surat Thani (Tapee pier) and then take a bus ride to Phuket. The whole journey takes about 6-8 hours.
Getting Around Phuket
The most convenient way to get around Phuket is by a private car or motorcycle. In Phuket, there are many local and well known car rental companies to choose, especially in the airport. The rate is depending on each season and availability, it's approximately 200-300 THB/day for motorcycle and 600-1000 THB for a sedan car. There are many public transportations in Phuket such as taxi, van, bus and local truck-made bus (Photong). However, taxi ride is the most expensive choice which tourist must be aware before taking the service. The bus and Photong fare are cheap and reasonable but it's slow, unreliable and inconvenient to tourist. The popular public transportations are 1.
