Tips for Khao San Road to Koh Tao Route
- Choose a combined bus + ferry ticket for a more convenient journey, so you do not have to book the bus and ferry separately. Most routes travel from Khao San Road to a pier in Chumphon before continuing by ferry to Koh Tao.
- Choose an overnight departure if you want to save time and accommodation costs. Some buses leave the Khao San Road area in the evening and arrive in Koh Tao the following morning, allowing you to make the most of your time on the island.
- Arrive at the departure point 30–60 minutes before departure to check in, collect your ticket, and prepare your luggage, especially during weekends, public holidays, and peak travel periods.
- Bring a jacket and travel accessories for sleeping on the bus. Air-conditioned buses can be cold, so it is a good idea to bring a jacket, neck pillow, eye mask, or earplugs for a more comfortable journey.
