Travel Tips for Koh Pha Ngan - Chumphon

  • Before travelling, carefully check the check-in point on Koh Phangan, check-in time, departure time, and arrival pier in Chumphon stated in your Booking Confirmation.
  • It is recommended to arrive at the check-in point at least 30–60 minutes before departure to allow enough time for ticket checking, luggage handling, and boarding, especially during the High Season, long holidays, or major events on the island.
  • If you are travelling with luggage, check the operator’s luggage weight and baggage allowance, especially if the limit is specified as no more than 20 kg plus 1 piece of hand luggage per passenger. It is also recommended to attach a name tag or contact information to your bags.
  • Keep your mobile phone, travel documents, cash, power bank, personal medication, and valuables in a small bag with you, as larger luggage may be stored in the luggage area and may not be easy to access during the journey.
  • If the ferry stops at Koh Tao, check your destination before getting off the boat and do not follow other passengers automatically, as passengers on the same ferry may be travelling to different destinations.
  • Passengers who are prone to seasickness should take motion sickness medication in advance according to the medication instructions, eat a light meal before travelling, and, if possible, choose a seat near the middle of the boat to reduce the impact of waves.
  • Keep drinking water, light snacks, and other essential items in an easily accessible bag during the journey.
  • Do not treat the scheduled arrival time as guaranteed. If you have onward travel plans from Chumphon, allow extra time, as sea conditions, passenger boarding and disembarking at intermediate stops, or ferry operations may affect the actual arrival time.
  • Before the travel date and again on the morning of departure, check the latest weather conditions, sea conditions, ferry schedule, and operator announcements, as ferry services and journey times may change depending on the sea conditions and operations on the day.
  • Save your Booking Confirmation or E-ticket for offline access on your phone, and double-check the passenger name, travel date, operator, check-in time, departure time, intermediate stops, and destination in case the internet connection is unstable during the journey.
