Travel tips for Koh Mook - Krabi

  • Before leaving Koh Mook, confirm which pier you need to depart from and what time you should leave your accommodation. The hotel departure time is not the same as the boat departure time, especially if your resort is located on the opposite side of the island from the boarding point.
  • Arrive at the check-in point around 30–60 minutes before departure so you have enough time to handle your luggage, check your ticket, and confirm whether your service includes stops at other islands or a boat change along the way.
  • If your boat leaves in the afternoon, you can still enjoy your final morning, but keep activities light and close to your accommodation, such as walking along the beach or visiting a nearby community. Avoid long boat trips such as Emerald Cave excursions, as delays could make it difficult to return in time for departure.
  • Before handing over your main luggage, make sure everything you may need during the journey is in a small carry-on bag. Keep drinking water, personal medication, tissues, your phone, power bank, and some cash within easy reach so you do not need to open your larger suitcase on the boat.
  • If you are prone to seasickness, prepare before symptoms begin. Consider taking motion sickness medication according to the recommended instructions, and if you can choose your seat, sit around the middle section of the boat and look toward the horizon rather than down at your phone.
  • Check your swimwear, towels, and beach shoes before packing. If they are still damp, place them in a separate waterproof or wet-item bag so the rest of your clothes stay dry during the journey to Krabi.
  • If your boat stops to pick up or drop off passengers at several islands, do not disembark just because other passengers are getting off. Listen carefully for the destination announced by the staff, as people on the same boat may be traveling to different islands or piers.
  • After spending several days enjoying the sea on Koh Mook, Krabi is a good place to switch to more land-based activities. You can explore local markets, try regional food, visit temples, or relax at cafés for a change of pace.
  • Check the operator’s baggage allowance, size limits, and permitted number of bags so Bundhaya Speedboat allows up to 30 Kg, plus 1 carry-on bag per person and attach a clear name label to your luggage. Keep your phone, cash, documents, and valuables in a carry-on bag or waterproof pouch.
  • If you have another activity planned in Krabi on the same day, leave a comfortable buffer after the scheduled boat arrival. You may still need time to collect your luggage, transfer by vehicle, and continue from the pier to your actual destination. Services with several stops or rougher sea conditions may not arrive exactly according to the published timetable.
