Travel tips for Koh Yao Noi - Ao Nang

  • On the travel day, check the boat service status and sea conditions before leaving your accommodation, especially during Green Season. If the operator announces any changes to the departure time, pier, or pick-up point, follow the latest information rather than relying on an earlier timetable.
  • Arrive at the check-in point around 30–60 minutes before departure and allow extra time to travel from your accommodation to the pier. Resorts on Koh Yao Noi are spread across different parts of the island, so transfer times to the departure point can vary.
  • Check the departure pier and final drop-off point carefully against your Booking Confirmation. On the Ao Nang side, some services may include an onward vehicle transfer from another pier rather than ending directly at Ao Nang Beach.
  • If you can choose your seat and want to reduce seasickness, the middle section of the boat is generally more comfortable. Face in the direction of travel, avoid the bow, and try not to read or look at a screen for long periods. Consider taking motion sickness medication according to the recommended instructions.
  • If you would like to enjoy the scenery, choose a seat with a view outside when possible. Parts of the route offer views of Phang Nga Bay and its limestone formations, but remain in designated passenger areas and avoid standing near the bow or stern while the boat is moving at speed.
  • Dress for both sun and rain by choosing quick-drying clothing, bringing a hat or light outer layer, and wearing footwear with good grip. Pier surfaces and boarding areas can become wet and slippery from rain or sea spray.
  • Keep a separate onboard essentials bag instead of relying on your main luggage. Carry drinking water, tissues, personal medication, a power bank, and other necessities, while keeping your phone, cash, and important documents in a waterproof pouch.
  • If you are traveling with a large suitcase, check the operator’s baggage conditions and attach a clear name label so Bundhaya Speedboat allows up to 30 kg of luggage, plus 1 carry-on bag per person If you have several bags, avoid leaving loose items hanging or tied to the outside, as they may come off during loading and unloading.
  • Do not schedule your next activity based only on the arrival time shown on your ticket. Allow extra time for baggage unloading, the onward transfer into Ao Nang, and possible delays caused by sea conditions or passenger stops along the way.
  • One of the highlights of Ao Nang is that you can stay in one area while enjoying both marine and land-based activities. It is especially convenient for continuing to Railay Beach, Poda Island, and the Four Islands area, while also offering plenty of restaurants, shops, and tourism services.
