Travel tips for Koh Lanta - Koh Kradan

  • Speedboats and other passenger boat services are available from Koh Lanta to Koh Kradan, with most departures from Saladan Pier. Check the boat type and boarding location carefully to ensure they match your booking details.
  • Some ferry services may stop at Koh Ngai or Koh Mook to pick up and drop off passengers before reaching Koh Kradan. Check the order of stops and estimated travel time with the operator.
  • Koh Kradan does not have a deep-water pier for large boats. Some services may require a transfer to a long-tail boat or walking through shallow water to reach the shore. Wear suitable footwear that can get wet and is comfortable for walking on sandy beaches.
  • Since Koh Kradan has no roads or cars, reaching your accommodation usually involves walking along the beach or natural pathways. Check with your accommodation about the arrival point and whether luggage assistance is available.
  • Koh Kradan is part of Hat Chao Mai National Park. Check the national park entrance fees and confirm whether they are included in your ferry ticket price.
  • If you plan to stay overnight on Koh Kradan, bring enough cash and essential supplies from Koh Lanta, as there are no ATMs on the island and shops and other facilities are limited.
  • If you plan to go snorkeling around Koh Kradan, check the tide schedule before entering the water, as some coral reefs are located close to the shore and water levels can become very shallow during low tide.
  • November to April is generally the best period for traveling in the Andaman Sea, with more frequent boat services than during the monsoon season. If you are traveling between May and October, check whether your preferred route is operating in advance.
  • If you are prone to seasickness, choose a seat near the middle of the boat, where movement is generally less noticeable than at the bow. Avoid looking down at your phone during the journey to help reduce dizziness.
  • Arrive at the pier at least 30–60 minutes before departure to allow enough time for check-in, ticket verification, and luggage preparation before boarding.
