Travel tips for Phi Phi Islands - Koh Lipe

  • Before travelling, carefully check the departure pier, check-in point, departure time, and arrival point on Koh Lipe stated in your Booking Confirmation, as details may vary depending on the operator.
  • It is recommended to arrive at the check-in point at least 30–60 minutes before departure, as this is a longer journey with passengers travelling to different destinations. Staff may need additional time to check tickets, tag luggage, and arrange passengers before boarding.
  • If you are travelling with luggage, check the operator’s luggage weight and baggage allowance, especially if the limit is specified as no more than 30 kg plus 1 piece of hand luggage per passenger. Pack your luggage so it is easy to carry on and off the boat, as storage space on some Speedboats may be limited.
  • Attach a name tag and contact information to your luggage, especially on services with several intermediate stops, to help reduce the risk of bags being mixed up when passengers board or get off along the route.
  • Keep your mobile phone, passport, travel documents, cash, power bank, personal medication, and valuables in a small bag with you rather than placing them in larger luggage stored together on the boat.
  • Prepare a waterproof bag or Dry Bag for your mobile phone, documents, and electronic devices, as seawater may splash onto passengers while boarding, getting off, or changing Speedboats. Some services may also stop offshore before passengers continue to the beach on Koh Lipe.
  • As the journey may take several hours, passengers who are prone to seasickness should prepare or take motion sickness medication in advance according to the medication instructions, eat a light meal before travelling, and bring enough drinking water, especially when travelling by Speedboat for a long period.
  • Do not assume that the scheduled arrival time is guaranteed, as the actual journey may take longer due to sea conditions, passenger pick-up and drop-off stops, boat transfers, or luggage handling along the route.
  • Check the latest weather conditions, sea conditions, and operator announcements both before the travel date and again on the morning of departure, as this route involves a long journey across the Andaman Sea and sea conditions may affect comfort, journey time, or service operation.
  • On the day of travel, double-check the passenger name, travel date, operator, check-in time, departure time, number of boat transfers, and destination. Save your Booking Confirmation or E-ticket for offline access on your phone so you can view it even when there is no internet connection during the journey.
