Traveling to Nan

By Car

Route 1

Take Highway No. 1 (Phahonyothin Road) or Highway No. 32 (Asian Highway) toward Nakhon Sawan. Continue on Highway No. 117 to Phitsanulok, then take Highway No. 11 through Uttaradit toward Phrae. From Phrae, continue on Highway No. 101 through Wiang Sa District and proceed to Nan city.

Route 2

Take Highway No. 32 (Asian Highway) through Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya, Ang Thong, Sing Buri, and Chainat to Nakhon Sawan. Continue north toward Phitsanulok and Uttaradit, then head to Phrae. From Phrae, take Highway No. 101 through Rong Kwang and Wiang Sa districts before arriving in Nan.

Route 3

Take Highway No. 1 (Phahonyothin Road) toward Nakhon Sawan and continue to Kamphaeng Phet. From there, take Highway No. 101 through Sukhothai and continue toward Phrae. Stay on Highway No. 101 through Rong Kwang and Wiang Sa districts before reaching Nan city.

By Train 

Nan does not have a railway station. Travelers from Bangkok can take a Northern Line train from Krung Thep Aphiwat Central Terminal to Den Chai Railway Station in Phrae Province. From Den Chai, continue to Nan by bus or other local transportation. The distance from Den Chai to Nan is approximately 142 kilometers. Train schedules can be checked with the State Railway of Thailand. 

By Bus 

You can travel from Bangkok to Nan by bus. Most services depart from Bangkok Bus Terminal (Chatuchak), also known as Mo Chit 2, and arrive at Nan Bus Terminal. The journey typically takes around 10 - 11 hours

1. Wat Phumin

2. Sin Thao Rock Salt Pond 

Surrounded by the mountains of Bo Kluea District, this historic community continues the traditional practice of producing mountain salt from natural brine wells. You can watch the local salt making process, explore small community shops, and discover products made from locally sourced salt.

3. Sapan
