We booked the 90-minute tour for our family of four, and it was a highlight of our trip.
If you are looking for an ethical sanctuary, this is one of the rare places in Thailand that does it perfectly. It is strictly hands-off: no riding, no bathing, and no petting. Instead, the focus is entirely on respecting the animals in their new home. We helped prepare their lunch in the kitchen, laid it out as a buffet, and then stepped back to simply watch them enjoy it.
They currently care for six female elephants rescued from abusive owners, giving them the peaceful life they deserve. Our guide was fantastic - full of knowledge, sharing the individual stories of the elephants, and making the 90 minutes engaging for the whole family.
It is amazing to see an organization doing this right. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to support real conservation!

Great Experience

My husband and I had an incredible experience at the Phuket Elephant Nature Reserve. We were looking for an ethical way to see elephants, and this experience delivered. Our guide, Tom, gave us an extremely education tour of the reserve and introduced us to all the elephants. We were able to prepare food for the elephants and indirectly feed them. It was amazing to be so close to these incredible beings. We’re very grateful for the fantastic work this reserve is doing to rehabilitate these remarkable animals.

Ethical elephant experience

This was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it. We chose the half-day option. We got picked up from our hotel, were welcome by friendly staff, and learned a lot about elephants during our morning through different talks and activities, all very thoughtful. We ended with a cooking lesson and a very tasty lunch. I need to be gluten free and the cook adjusted my food specially for me.

10/10 experience at an amazing price point! 100% ethical/hands-off and you can tell they really care about the elephants they’ve rescued & care for:) felt so lucky to be there and experience this! Amazing & knowledgeable staff!

Amazing tour that was ethically friendly. It’s so important to learn about the history of elephants. Our tour guide was amazing! 

This was a great way to see elephants in Thailand.  The staff were fabulous and my kids loved making the elephant food.  If your a person with decent values towards animals nature this is the place for you

We took the 1.5 hour tour. We met all 5 elephants that were wondering around accompanied by trainers that looked out on them. The guide was very descriptive and knowledgeable. Last but not least, we got to prepare a snack meal (I.e. fruits and sugar canes) for the elephants. We were glad to spend our money in a place that places the elephants' needs first. However, I felt a little uncomfortable when they made an elephant stay (using bananas as an incentive) for us to have a photo with it.
