Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Samui is located 20 minutes away from Samui International Airport and allows visitors to get close, feed, bathe elephants, and watch them interact in their habitat.

We decided to visit Elephant Jungle Sanctuary because my son loves elephants, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of our time in Koh Samui.

Booking was very straightforward. We emailed the sanctuary in the morning and were able to secure places on the 2pm Feed and Shower Experience the same day. For three people, including hotel pick-up and drop-off, the total cost was THB 6,600, plus a 3% charge for payment by card.

We were collected from our hotel in Chaweng at around 1:15pm, and the journey to the sanctuary took approximately 20 minutes.

On arrival, there were around 20–25 people in our group, which felt like a good size. The sanctuary provides lockers for storing towels and spare clothes, which is useful as you will get wet during the experience.

The visit began with a short introduction explaining the sanctuary’s work and the stories of the elephants. We were told that they currently care for seven female elephants, all of which are rescue elephants from within Thailand.

The first activity was feeding the elephants watermelon and spending time with them while taking photographs. This lasted around 40–50 minutes and provided plenty of opportunities to interact with the elephants at a relaxed pace.

After a short break, during which complimentary drinking water and watermelon were provided, we moved on to the shower experience. Guests are given brushes and hoses and are able to help wash the elephants. This was great fun and was enjoyed by both my children and me.

One feature we particularly appreciated was the professional photographer who accompanies the group throughout the experience. At the end of the visit, you simply scan a QR code and provide your email address. A link to all of your photographs is sent by the following day and is included in the price, which is a nice touch and saves having to worry about taking photos yourself throughout the experience.

There is also a small souvenir shop on site.

What impressed us most was seeing how well the elephants appeared to be cared for. There is no riding, no performances and no elephants kept in chains. Having seen how elephants were often treated in Thailand years ago, it was reassuring to see a sanctuary focused on welfare and respectful interaction.

My children and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Koh Samui. If you are looking for an ethical way to spend time with elephants while supporting rescued animals, Elephant Jungle Sanctuary is well worth a visit.

The staff are clearly dedicated to the elephants and their passion shines through delivering an incredibly authentic experience. My whole family loved it - and showering with the elephants is hard to explain how much fun it is. A must do trip !

Best thing we did in 10 days between Singapore and Koh Samui. I did not want the 3 hr session many places do and staying at Holiday Inn Bophot the idea of a 1 hr visit was perfect. Kids were a little nervous but got used to it. Just a perfect visit could not fault it.

This is one of best trips we have ever booked and cannot recommend highly enough. 

Wir waren am späten Nachmittag zur letzten Fütterung. Es war angenehm ruhig. Wir konnten die 7 Elefanten im Park füttern und anfassen. 
Sie werden dort gut versorgt. 
Eine Stunde ist völlig ausreichend. 
Der Preis ist für thailändische Verhältnisse trotzdem zu hoch. 

We have tried to find a place which is just not s tourist trap,but you never know,what we saw was good managed,the elephants what we saw looked good and walking there freely in peace. They explained all About them and they said some elephants coming there from bad enviroment,like circus or dancing they have some issues and it was sad to see,one elephant wanted all the time dance and at least they are not living in wild but they are not forcing them to do these things here. All in all,the day was very nice,with making our own lunch,got some presents from sanctuary and nathing was also fun. What we have seen,it was a nice day and we reccomend it to people who want to have close interaction with elephants. 

We booked the 1hr feed with elephants, it was great fun. Lovely elephant sanctuary we got given baskets of watermelon to feed the elephants. There were 6 elephants on site including a baby elephant. Really recommend 

i loved everything about this place! What a great way to end our honeymoon! We loved it here and the staff was really amazing!!
