Absolutely loved my cookery experience with Tom at the Basil Cookery School. He picked me up from my hotel with 5 other people and we went to a local market where he showed us all the vegetables and herbs and spices we would be using. We had to choose 6 dishes each and make these dishes under his expert guidance. And then, of course eat them all.  All the food was amazing and tasted restaurant quality. I chose drunken noodles, chicken and coconut milk soup, my favourite papaya salad, chicken and cashew nut stir fry, red pedang curry and coconut sticky rice and mango. There were lots of other selections which other people chose. Fun, friendly and informative I would happily recommend Tom and his Basil Cookery School.

A wonderfully relaxed cooking experience

Wonderful experience all around. Started with a nice visit of the local market, then moved into the school’s kitchen. Our chef instructor Tom was great.  Clear, patient and helpful.  We each cooked 6 dishes, all of them tasty in their own right (small portions thankfully).  All the dishes were fresh, healthy and simple to make.  Do plan for a 5 hour event, which went surprisingly fast as we were having so much fun. We came away with a nice set of recipes, and have since make a few at home.  Wonderful food and great memories. Highly recommended!

Amazing experience! We were a small group of 6 which is great to fully enjoy the class. The staff is fantastic and the ingredients are fresh, 100% recommend.

This is such a great thing to do - 100% recommend it! We did the evening course - after being picked up from our hotel, a tour of the local market, we cooked six courses - do come hungry. Don’t worry if you can’t finish everything as Tom and his team will package up anything you want to take away.  There were a total of six on our course, so nice and small. The whole evening was very relaxed - so it’s almost like having friends over dinner - whilst learning how to cook. Tom is very entertaining and his team super efficient in cleaning down your work station inbetween courses. I can’t believe we cooked such good food. Did I mention - you should  come hungry? Very hungry. Enjoy! PS. Wouldn’t change a thing! Thanks again Tom and your lovely team. :-)
