The idea of squid fishing at Tappia Floating Café sounded really fun and unique — and it was definitely a cool first-time experience. The setting was nice, and the concept is great for a casual night out on the water.
That said, actually catching a squid is nearly impossible. There were over 100 people on board, and maybe one or two managed to catch anything — more like a miracle than a real chance. There were no traps or proper guidance, and for most of us trying it for the first time, it felt more like just holding a fishing rod for fun.
I think it would be great if they included a drink or some food with the trip to make it feel more worthwhile. Overall, it’s a fun novelty experience, but go in with low expectations for actual fishing.
