Description:
A hot and savoury soup with prawns, mushrooms, chillies, lemongrass and other Thai herbs is one of the most famous Thai dishes. This bowl is very quick and easy to prepare. It features the delightful lemongrass and green lime juice favour of Thai food.

English Name: Chicken Green Curry
Description:
This dish is one of the most famous curry recipes both in Thailand and the kitchen world. The name Kaeng Khieo Wan literally means “sweet green curry”. It originally is the curry which has a lovely sweet green colour. This hot and spicy recipe features chicken but it could also be prepared with beef, prawns or fish balls.

Description:
Phad Thai is one of the most popular noodle dishes among Thais and Westerners. It is commonly sold from street food stalls or restaurants as a quick take-out meal. It tastes delicious and has a great variety of different ingredients; rice noodles, prawns, egg, bean sprouts, tofu, peanuts, Chinese chives, sweeten pickle radish. So, why not give yourself a variety treat from this dish.

English Name: Sticky Rice with Ripe Mango
Description:
This is a sweet treat that you will be falling in love with. Khiao Ngu sticky rice cooked with coconut milk served with ripe mango and top with coconut cream and split mung beans. The dish is a summer dessert because the peak of the mango season is in the summer during April to May. However, the dish can be found all year round from the food stalls in the market. It is not to be missed if you are visiting Thailand.

Description:
Green curry paste is so named for its characteristic green colour, made of fresh and aromatic herbs such as green chillies, galangal, lemongrass, kaffir lime zest, coriander roots, coriander seeds, cumin seeds, and shallots by pounding in the stone mortar and pestle.

By Boat
Take the Chao Phraya Boat and get off at the Phra Arthit Pier. Call a Tuk Tuk to give you a ride to Kraisi Road. On the road, look for a Chinese Temple. 70 m. walk in to a small alley next to the temple then turn right at the junction, you will see a 4 stories-building painted in dark greyish brown.
By Taxi
Tell the driver to drop you off at the Kraisi Road in Banglumphu area. On the road, look for a Chinese Temple. 70 m. walk in to a small alley next to the temple then turn right at the junction, you will see a 4 stories-building painted in dark greyish brown.
By Skytrain (BTS) or Underground (MRT)
There are no Skytrain or underground stations in the Khaosan Road area. Getting off at Ratchathewi bts Skytrain Station Exit 1 and catch a taxi to our cooking class. The distance between the skytrain station and Maliwan is about 4.5 km. You can also take the MRT to Hua Lamphong MRT Station and use the Exit 2 then, take a taxi to our class. The distance between the MRT station and Maliwan is about 5.5 km.

The day begins when everyone arrives at Maliwan cooking school.

First on the agenda is a journey by Tuk-Tuk to the local fresh produce market.

After learning about vegetables, Thai herbs, coconut milk, jasmine rice, etc. and purchasing what we may miss for the days’ cooking lessons, we head back to the school and take a short break with a ‘welcome drink’.

Next up is the first cooking demonstration. The instructor will prepare 2 dishes while the class observes. Full instruction will be provided with plenty of opportunity to ask questions.

We will then move to the stoves and get cooking! As we create our first 2 dishes we will get lots of assistance and tips to ensure that our Thai cuisine is just as it should be.

Now it’s time to eat!! We will move to the dining area and enjoy the dishes we prepared in an informal atmosphere. After eating we can take a little time to relax before heading back to the demonstration room.

While we watch the next 2 dishes being prepared, we can learn more about the technique of Thai cuisine.

After the demonstration it will be “all hands to the cooking stations” to prepare the final 2 dishes of the day. Then it’s time to dine once more!
